Seven Nittany Lion Fencers Qualify for NCAA Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Based off of their performances at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals this past weekend at Lafayette College and selections by the NCAA Fencing Committee, seven Nittany Lion fencers have qualified for the NCAA national championships. Penn State will have fencers competing in all six weapons at the NCAA Championships.

Qualification and voting is based off of the fencer's regular-season record and regional tournament performance.

Arwen Borowiak and Aidan Johnson will be competing in men's foil, Ryan Griffiths in men's epee and Clement Perrier in men's sabre.

For the women's side, Kateryna Chorniy will fence epee with Samantha Cantantan in foil and Ola Strzalkowski in sabre.

The NCAA national championships will be held in Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke University in Durham, N.C. March 23-26.
