Hollin Earns Two Weekly Awards, IL/IWLCA and Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Sophomore defender Ellie Hollin is named the IL/IWLCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week and the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the both organizations on Tuesday, March 29. Hollin had a major defensive performance in Penn State's two wins last week, posting 6 ground balls, 6 caused turnovers and three draw controls in two outings. 
 
In a dominant, 13-3 win over Ohio State, Hollin led the defense to their first, first half shutout since early 2022. She recorded a career high five caused turnovers, matched her career high five ground balls and added a draw control. Hollin held Ohio State's top scorer, Nicole Ferrara, to just one goal on a free position.
 
In the Nittany Lions' first win last week, a 15-12 road victory at Pitt, Hollin posted one caused turnover, one ground ball and two draw control wins. She held Pitt's leading scorer to just one goal.
 
The sophomore from Monkton, Md. is fifth in the conference in ground balls (21) and sixth in caused turnovers in the Big Ten and 37th nationally (17).
