Rose Earns Third EIVA Defensive Player of the Week Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's volleyball redshirt freshman Owen Rose was named the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. He received the award for his performance in the Nittany Lions' two wins over Charleston (WV) that wrapped up a perfect 10-0 regular season record in the conference.

Rose dominated at the net in the two wins over the Eagles, totaling 10 blocks (1.67/set). He also contributed offensively with nine kills (1.50/set) on .467 hitting. He was especially strong in the second match as he racked up seven blocks in just three sets on the floor.
 
It is the third EIVA Defensive Player of the Week award of the season for Rose.
 
Penn State closed the season at 24-3 overall and 10-0 in the conference while winning its third-straight EIVA regular season title. The Lions will host the six-team EIVA Tournament at Rec Hall on April 19-22.
