UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's basketball head coach Mike Rhoades announced the addition of six-foot-seven Temple transfer Zach Hicks to the Nittany Lion program Friday. Hicks joins Penn State with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Hicks spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Temple where he led the Owls in 3-point field goals in both seasons. The sharpshooting combo forward drilled 141 triples at a 36.3 percent clip during his freshman and sophomore campaigns and has averaged 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists throughout his collegiate career.
The Camden, N.J. native started all 32 games for the Owls in 2022-23, notching 9.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while draining 80 3-pointers and ranking top five in the American Athletic Conference with a 35.6 3FG%. Hicks scored in double figures in 18 games with two double-double performances, including a season-high 20 points against Vanderbilt.
Hicks made an immediate impact during his freshman season with the Owls, playing in 28 games while averaging 8.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He led Temple with 61 3-pointers and a 37.4 3FG%. He went off for a school-record 10 threes in a win over Delaware State, finishing with 35 points on a 10-of-16 clip from downtown to tie the most triples made by a Division I player during the 2021-22 season.
Hicks earned second-team All-State honors as a senior at Camden Catholic High School. He averaged 20 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while connecting on 49 triples during his junior season to earn All-South Jersey honors.
