UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's volleyball's Cole Bogner was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. The setter earned the award after leading the Lions to 3-0 sweeps over Harvard on Friday and Saturday.
Bogner averaged 10.50 assists/set while helping Penn State hit .344 in the two wins against the Crimson. The Lions were dominant in the first victory, hitting .457 behind 33 assists from Bogner. He added 30 assists in the second win, giving him an average of 10.0 assists or better in a match for the 15th time this season.
Bogner ranks first in the EIVA and sixth nationally with 10.21 kills/set this season. Penn State ranks eighth nationally with a .329 hitting percentage. It is the first weekly EIVA honor this season for Bogner and is the fourth of his career. He is the sixth different Lion to win a weekly award in 2023.
The Lions are 20-3 overall and sit atop the EIVA standings at 6-0. They are back on the road this weekend with matches at George Mason on Friday and Saturday.
