Marsh Named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball freshman outfielder/designated hitter Bobby Marsh was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday. Marsh picked up his first career Big Ten award.
 
In four games last week, Marsh batted .412 (7-of-17) with two doubles, five RBI and two runs, while adding two walks. He had a .529 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base percentage.
 
Against Pitt on Tuesday, Marsh collected two hits, including an RBI double.
 
In Thursday's game against No. 20 Maryland, Marsh tallied a two-run double in the second, an RBI double in the sixth and an RBI walk in the seventh to total two doubles, two runs and a career-high four RBI.
 
He recorded one hit in Penn State's 5-3 win over Maryland on Friday and two base knocks in Saturday's game.
 
The Bellefonte native finished the season with a .310 average to go with 45 hits, 13 doubles, six homers, 35 RBI and 33 runs. He ended the year with a .524 slugging percentage and a .912 OPS.
 
In Big Ten play, Marsh batted .293 with 22 hits, including seven doubles and three homers, 19 RBI and 16 runs. The 19 RBI tied for a team best.
