EL SALVADOR – Penn State swimmers Emma and Jack Harvey represented Bermuda at the Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador on June 24-28.
Emma recorded six top-five finishes, four personal bests and three national records. She won medals in the 50 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly.
Jack earned three top-eight finishes. He also set Bermuda national records in the 50 Backstroke (26.57) and 200 Backstroke (2:04.86).
The duo helped Bermuda to national records in two relays.

On Saturday, Emma earned the silver medal in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 29.01. He entered the race as the top seed in the A final after posting a 28.75 in the prelims. Her prelim time is a Bermuda national record.
Emma and Jack combined to help Bermuda to a sixth-place finish in the 4x100 mixed medley relay with an overall time of 4:03.43. Emma had a 1:01.13 split, while Jack had a 56.67 split. The mixed medley relay time is a Bermuda national record.
In the 100 Freestyle, Jack posted a time of 52.75 in the prelims.
On Sunday, Emma claimed fourth in the 100 Back with a pace of 1:02.74. He was the fifth seed in the A final after registering a time of 1:04.26 in the prelims.
On Monday, Emma set a personal best and placed fifth in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 56.88.
Jack took sixth in the 100 Backstroke, recording a time of 58.35.
On Tuesday, Emma broke a Bermuda national record and posted a personal-best 1:00.65 in the 100 Butterfly, finishing fourth in the race. He entered the A final as the No. 5 seed after notching a 1:02.40 in the prelims.
Jack finished eighth in the 200 Backstroke with a pace of 2:06.37 after posting the event's fourth-best time in the prelims. His prelim time (2:04.86) is a Bermuda national record.
In the 4x100 Mixed Free Relay, Emma and Jack combined to help the team to a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:45.16. The mixed free relay time is also a Bermuda national record.
On Wednesday, Jack picked up his third Top 8 finish of the weekend with a 26.70 in the 50 Backstroke, placing eighth. His time of 26.57 in the prelims is a Bermuda national record.
On Thursday, her final day of competition, Emma picked up the bronze medal in the 50 Butterfly with a 27.11, a Bermuda national record. She posted a personal-best 26.04 in the 50 Freestyle to place fifth.
