Haus and Posey to Don No. 16 and No. 11 Jersey's in 2024

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's lacrosse student-athletes Grant Haus and Jack Posey will have the honor of wearing number 16 and 11 for the 2024 season.

Grant Haus will wear the number 16 jersey for a first season. Since 2016, the jersey has been awarded to a senior who best represents the "Heart of a Competitor" in honor of the "Teammate for Life" Connor Darcey. Connor passed away tragically on June 12, 2015, in a car accident, prior to his redshirt junior season.

The number 16 is passed down by the student-athlete who had the honor of wearing the number 16 during the previous season which was Jack Traynor.

Haus was named an USILA, Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention and an All-Big Ten Second Team selection. He tallied two goals and one assist while forcing a career-high 10 turnovers and scooped a career-high 35 ground balls. The Palmyra, Pa. native forced multiple turnovers in three games this season including three against Ohio State.

Jack Posey will wear the number 11 jersey for the first time in his career. The number 11 is presented to a young man who has persevered in the face of adversity. The number 11 jersey, worn by Michael Jacober from 2002-05, has become symbolic of the strength and compassion of the 2005 Penn State lacrosse team who rallied around Michael after his family was tragically killed in a plane crash during his senior season.

Posey has been a constant leader for the team on and off the field. He was named a USILA, Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention and was also named to the All-Big Ten Second Team as he was the Nittany Lions top defenseman during the regular season. He finished out the season with 11 caused turnovers which is a career-high and scooped a career-high 25 ground balls. He also notched two goals which came against Penn on March 4. He was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his play against the Quakers.
