Lobdell Added to USA Hockey Women's National Festival Roster

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Penn State women's ice hockey senior defenseman Lyndie Lobdell has been selected to participate in the 2023 USA Hockey Women's National Festival on August 7-13 in Lake Placid, N.Y. as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Lobdell joins 77 other athletes including teammate Tessa Janecke who will participate in the festival in August. The festival brings together the top American female players from the U18 level to the national team, the festival will assist in the evaluation process for the 2023-24 U.S. Women's National Team set to compete during the 2023-24 Rivalry Series in November and December, and the selection process for the U18 and Collegiate Women's Select Team rosters for the U18 and Collegiate Series against Canada that will take place August 16-19 in Lake Placid.
 
This is Lobdell's second appearance with USA Hockey as she played for the U18 USA team where they won gold in 2020 at the IIHF U18 World Championships.
 
The Aurora, Ill. native was part of Penn State's championship season as she skated in 38 games and tallied two goals alongside a career-high 14 assists for 16 points. Lobdell also led the team in blocked shots in 2022-23 tallying 70 on the year.
 
She was named to the All-CHA Second Team and was named CHA Defensive Player of the Week twice in her junior season. In her freshman season, she was named to the CHA All-Rookie team after leading all Nittany Lion defenders with 13 assists and 14 points.
