Several Nittany Lion Swimmers Competing In World Championships

FUKUOKA, Japan – Six current or former Penn State swimmers are set for represent their countries in the World Aquatics Championships in Japan, beginning on July 22. Eduardo Cisternas (Chile), Emma Harvey (Bermuda), Jack Harvey (Bermuda), Mariano Lazzerini (Chile), Melissa Rodriguez (Mexico) and Shane Ryan (Ireland) are set to compete in the championships.

Representing Chile, Cisternas, who competed in the 2020 Olympic Games, will compete in the 400 Freestyle and 800 Freestyle, while Mariano Lazzerini will compete in the 50 Breaststroke and 100 Breaststroke.
 
Emma and Jack Harvey will represent Bermuda. Emma will compete in the 50 Backstroke and 100 Backstroke, while Jack will race in the 100 Backstroke and 200 Backstroke. They will also combine in the 4x100 Mixed Freestyle Relay.
 
Rodriguez, who competed in the 2020 Olympic Games, will represent Mexico in the 50 Breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke.
 
Ryan, who competed in the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, will compete in the 100 Freestyle. Ryan will also be part of Ireland's 4x100 Men's Medley Relay team.
