CHENGDU, China- Rising Penn State men's gymnastics junior and U.S. Senior National Team member Josh Karnes is representing the United States and rising sophomore Ian Raubal is representing Switzerland at the 2023 FISU World University Games.
Karnes earned his spot on the U.S. Senior National Team at the Winter Cup this past February while also securing his spot at the World University Games. The Big Ten Parallel Bars Champion will compete beginning on Tuesday, August 1 in team finals and individual qualifications. Individual all-around finals and individual apparatus finals will follow from Aug. 4-5.
Raubal will compete for his home country Switzerland. The two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week will take on team finals and individual qualifications on Wednesday, Aug. 2. All-around finals and individual event finals begin on Aug. 4.
