Men’s Gymnastics Sends Five to Compete at 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships

SAN JOSE, Calif.- Penn State men's gymnastics has five gymnasts competing at the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, Calif. from Aug. 24-27. The U.S. Gymnastics Championships is being held in the SAP Center in San Jose. The event will determine the men's rosters for the 2023 FIG World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. 
 
Among the Penn State student-athletes traveling to compete is Senior National team member Josh Karnes who recently competed at the World University Games in Chendgu, China. Karnes joins senior Matt Cormier, and freshman Landon Simpson after qualifying earlier this year at the Winter Cup.
 
Cormier, Karnes and Simpson are joined by Michael Artlip and Michael Jaroh after qualifying at the Core Classic in Chicago Ill. Artlip earned two top-10 finishes on floor and vault, and Jaroh placed fourth on the high bar.
 
The competition will begin on Thursday, August 24 with the senior men's first session starting at 5:00 p.m. The second session will be on Saturday, August 26 at 4:00 p.m. For a complete time schedule, visit usgymchampionships.com/info.
 
Both senior men's sessions will stream live on Peacock. Both senior women's and men's Day 2 sessions will be broadcast live on CNBC. An international stream for all senior sessions will be on the USA Gymnastics YouTube.
 
Penn State men's gymnastics alum and 2021 World pommel horse champion, Stephen Nedoroscik, joins the current student-athletes in competing at the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Champions.
