Dates Announced for 2023-24 B1G Women’s Basketball Season

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Big Ten Conference released the dates Thursday for all 18 conference games for Penn State women's basketball this coming winter.

Home Matchups: Michigan State (December 30); Northwestern (January 2); Purdue (January 18); Nebraska (January 21); Maryland (January 28); Michigan (February 3); Illinois (February 15); Ohio State (February 22); Minnesota (March 3)

The home slate picks up with the same team that rounded out the 2022-23 season at the Bryce Jordan Center. Contested over the holiday break, the Lady Lions look to take victory over the Spartans for the second time in the Carolyn Kieger era.

All other conference games at the BJC take place in the 2024 calendar year. A few days after welcoming Michigan State, the Lady Lions host Northwestern, seeking three wins in four against the Wildcats. Five of the Big Ten's seven NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago battle Penn State at home, including No. 2 seed Maryland and No. 3 Ohio State. The schedule rounds out with Minnesota, who the Lady Lions defeated in the conference tournament last March.

Road Matchups: Ohio State (December 10); Indiana (January 10); Rutgers (January 14); Northwestern (January 25); Minnesota (January 31); Iowa (February 8); Wisconsin (February 11); Maryland (February 18); Purdue (February 28)

Starting on the road for the third consecutive season, the Lady Lions begin in Columbus with Ohio State. This marks the sixth time – and the first since 2006 – that Penn State opens conference play against OSU, with the Buckeyes holding the edge on this particular occurrence, three games to two.

The Hoosiers remain an early test on the schedule with the team's trek to Bloomington one month later. More tough battles ahead include NCAA runner-up Iowa, along with a rematch with the Terps towards the end of the campaign.

Season tickets for all 16 games at the Bryce Jordan Center are on sale now, and can be purchased through this link.

Times and television selections for each league game will be announced later.

The 60th season of Lady Lions basketball starts November 7 versus Bucknell.
