WINTHROP, Mass. - Penn State women's ice hockey graduate defenseman Maggie MacEachern was named the College Hockey America (CHA) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. This is her first weekly award honor as a Nittany Lion.
MacEachern tallied five blocked shots in the series against No. 5/5 Northeastern. The Brooklin, Ontario native also added one assist on the game-winning goal that came in game two of the series aiding in the Nittany Lions 2-1 victory.
Penn State returns to action on Friday, Sept. 29 when they host their home-opener against UConn. Puck-drop is set for 6 p.m.
