HISTORY
- Penn State is facing Cornell for the fifth time in program history.
- Both teams currently have one win with the series tied up at 1-1-2.
- The last meeting occurred two seasons ago when the Nittany Lions defeated Cornell 5-0 on February 8, 2022.
NITTANY LIONS ON TRACK FOR 100 GAMES
- Senior defenseman Lyndie Lobdell is set to appear in her 100th game this weekend at Cornell. Lobdell has played in 98 games so far as a Nittany Lion.
- Senior forward Maeve Connolly is approaching the milestone as well, sitting at 97 games played.
JANECKE IN THE CIRCLE
- Sophomore forward Tessa Janecke currently sits second in the nation in faceoff wins with 94 on the year.
- In the Nittany Lions victory over Northeastern on Sept. 24, Janecke tallied 19 faceoff wins on 29 attempts which aided in Penn State's 2-1 win.
- Last season, she tallied 464 faceoff wins in 38 games played.
THE MACEACHERN EFFECT
- Graduate defenseman Maggie MacEachern led the Nittany Lions in blocked shots in September with 11 including six that came in the UConn series. She also tallied one assist on the game-winning goal against No. 5 Northeastern which aided in Penn State's 2-1 victory.
- She has been named the CHA Defensive Player of the Week and Month one time already this season.
- She also scored her first goal as a Nittany Lion at her former school Colgate on Sunday in the Nittany Lions 3-2 loss.
- During the season, she's tallied one goal and one assist in six games played with 14 blocked shots.
