UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men's soccer welcomes Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Oct. 25 for two season milestones. The midweek match up marks the Nittany Lions final regular season home game and last regular season non-conference game.
 
Penn State looks for a second-straight win after a dominant 4-0 win on Senior Day against Michigan.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Penn State earned a dominant 4-0 shutout against Michigan on Senior Day, Sunday, Oct. 22.
  • Both seniors scored goals in the same game for the second time this season.
  • Mangione scored his eighth goal of the season, 29th of his career which moved him into the top-15 all-time at Penn State. Awodesu scored his second of the season and fifth of his career.
  • A freshmen duo scored the other two goals. Caden Grabfelder notched the first goal of the game and Morgan Marshall scored the final goal, his first of his collegiate career.
  • Kris Shakes earned his seventh clean sheet of the season.
  • The Nittany Lions handed the Wolverines their first Big Ten loss of the season.

 
NITTANY LIONS IN THE RANKS

  • Penn State is tied for first in the conference standings with Michigan State, both teams sitting at 13 points. It ranks second in goals scored with 25 and second in points with 68.
  • Peter Mangione's eight goals is the most scored in the conference and sixth highest scored nationally.
  • Kris Shakes ranks 17th in the nation in save percentage (.804). He also places second in the B1G in save percentage and saves (45). Shakes' six shutouts are good for second in the conference 15th in the nation.

SCOUTING THE TITANS

  • Detroit Mercy comes to Happy Valley seeking their second consecutive win with a recent victory against Wright State on Saturday, Oct. 21.
  • The Titans are 4-7-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the Horizon League.
  • Detroit Mercy is 2-6 in road games.
  • Four Titans lead the team with two goals each; Drew Pierson, Tim Allos, Casey McCarthy and Guershom Sylvain. Pierson leads in points with six.

PENN STATE –DETROIT MERCY SERIES

  • The Nittany Lions and Titans have only faced twice in the history of the two programs.
  • Penn State won both games by a score of 2-0 in 2017 and 2018.
  • Both matches were played at Jeffrey Field.

Parking for all Penn State Athletics' non-football events will require a valid permit or payment of the applicable parking fee for campus lots. Fans with valid Penn State University Park parking permits will be permitted to park at non-football athletics events for free, following Transportation Services parking policies and access.

Spectators can park in Stadium West parking lot for Penn State men's soccer games. Visitors can prepay for parking at a rate of $5.50/game through ParkMobile. The day-of-event rate will be $10/game. Prepayment is required by 11:59pm the night before the event to receive a discounted rate ($5.50/game).
