ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State men's soccer's Peter Mangione repeats as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. The senior and four-year starter combined for two goals and one assist through two Big Ten games for the Nittany Lions last week. Mangione is on a four-game scoring streak, all against Big Ten opponents, in the midst of earning the weekly conference honor.
The forward wrote a perfect senior day moment, scoring a goal alongside his other senior teammate Femi Awodesu in Penn State's dominant 4-0 victory against Michigan on Sunday evening. Mangione also assisted freshman Morgan Marshall's first career goal and third of the day for the Nittany Lions.
With his goal against Michigan on Sunday, Mangione moved into the top-15 all-time at Penn State in career goals with 29 throughout his four campaigns.
The Maryland native found the back of the net against Rutgers in the final minute of the game on Tuesday, Oct. 17 as well.
Co-captain Mangione has totaled eight goals so far this season to lead the conference in that category as well as tie for first in game-winning goals with four.
The Nittany Lions return to action against Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. at Jeffrey Field.
