ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State women's basketball's Makenna Marisa has been named to the All-Big Ten Preseason Team for coaches and media as announced by the conference on Wednesday. This is Marisa's second-straight time on the conference preseason watch list.
The senior+ surpassed several milestones throughout her 2022-23 campaign. Marisa moved into the third spot all-time at Penn State in career 30-point games (seven) and fifth in career three-point field goals (187). She also exceeded 1,500 career points on Dec. 30 and jumped to 1,750 career points through the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on March 1.
Marisa became the only Lady Lion to achieve 1,750 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists and 175 three-pointers through her career.
The Pennsylvania native started in all 31 games for the Lady Lions last season and averaged 17.5 point per game, leading the team in scoring, assists, field goals made, free throws made and free throw percentage. The guard finished the season ranked 58th nationally in points per game (17.5) and in minutes per game (35.4).
Marisa earned a slew of postseason honors by the end of the spring. She garnered first team All-Big Ten (coaches and media), College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team and All-District as well as Academic All-Big Ten for the third time in her career.
