HISTORY
- Penn State is facing Colgate for the ninth time in program history.
- Both teams currently have four wins with the series tied up at 4-4.
- The last meeting occurred last season when Colgate defeated the Nittany Lions 2-1 and 3-2 on Oct. 7-8 of 2022.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
- Colgate enters the series with a 1-1-0 record after a split with second-ranked Ohio State on Sept. 29-30.
- Leading the Raiders on the offensive front is senior Kristýna Kaltounkováas as she currently has two goals on the year.
- Last season, she racked up 128 points off 58 goals and 70 assists.
- In net stands senior Kayle Osborne who tallies a GAA of 2.01 and save percentage of .938.
- Last season, she won 14 games and registered a GAA of 1.75 with a save percentage of .926.
NOTHING GETS PAST JOSIE
- Goaltender Josie Bothun was named CHA Goaltender of the Month for the ninth time in her career on Tuesday afternoon.
- Bothun in the month of September recorded 93 saves, GAA of 1.25, and save percentage of .949.
- In Saturday's game against UConn on Sept. 30, she recorded save number 2,000 which placed her as the third Nittany Lion to ever to hit that milestone.
- Bothun also allowed one goal in Penn State's 2-1 victory over No. 5 Northeastern back on September 24.
- In her career, Bothun has tallied 2,011 saves and 61 wins as a Nittany Lion.
THE MACEACHERN EFFECT
- Graduate defenseman Maggie MacEachern was named the College Hockey America (CHA) Defensive Player of the Month on Tuesday afternoon. This is her first monthly award honor as a Nittany Lion.
- MacEachern led the Nittany Lions in blocked shots in September with 11 including six that came in the UConn series.
- She also tallied one assist on the game-winning goal against No. 5 Northeastern which aided in Penn State's 2-1 victory.
- The Defensive Player of the Month honor comes a week after the Brooklin, Ontario native was named CHA Defensive Player of the Week on September 25.
JANECKE IN THE CIRCLE
- Sophomore forward Tessa Janecke currently leads the nation in faceoff wins with 64 on the year.
- In the Nittany Lions victory over Northeastern on Sept. 24, Janecke tallied 19 faceoff wins on 29 attempts which aided in Penn State's 2-1 win.
