HAMILTON, N.Y.- The No. 11/11 Penn State women's ice hockey team dropped final game of the series against No. 3/3 Colgate 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first period, Colgate struck first as Kristýna Kaltounková scored 3:45 into the second period to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
- Penn State answered six minutes later as Maggie MacEachern scored her first goal of the season against her former team 9:26 into the frame off a feed from Tessa Janecke to even the score at 1-1.
- Colgate scored the final goal of the period coming from Syndey Morrow 11:19 into the period to give Colgate a 2-1 lead heading into the third frame.
- Colgate fired first in the third period as Kaitlyn O'Donohoe scored on the power-play 32 seconds in the frame to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead.
- The Nittany Lions answered 11 minutes later as Brianna Brooks scored her first goal of the season in the open lane to make the final score 3-2.
GOALTENDERS
- Senior goalie Josie Bothun recorded 25 saves and allowed three goals to move her record to 1-4-1 on the year.
STATS AND NOTES
- The Nittany Lions out-shot the Raiders 29-28.
- Colgate now leads the series 6-4-0.
- Brianna Brooks and Maggie MacEachern each scored their first goals as a Nittany Lion.
