Penn State Fencing Announces 2023-24 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; October 9, 2023 – Penn State fencing has announced the 2023-24 competition schedule, with the Penn State Garret Open kicking off the season on Oct. 21-22. The Nittany Lion men's and women's fencing teams will also host their annual January home series.

The Garret Open will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-22, in the White Building, officially getting the new season underway. Three straight North America Cup events will follow. The NAC/Orlando takes place on Oct. 26-29, the NAC/Fort Worth on Nov. 10-13 and the NAC/Richmond on Dec. 1-3. 

Penn State continues NCAA action on Sunday, Dec. 3, when it visits Sacred Heart for a series with the hosts, NYU, Harvard, Vassar, Princeton and the NJIT men's squad. The NAC/San Jose follows on Jan. 5-8. The Nittany Lions will host Penn, North Carolina, Columbia, Haverford, Duke, Yale and the Temple women on Sunday, Jan. 14, in the Penn State Multi-Sport building.

The next weekend, the Nittany Lions trek to St. John's for a series with St. John's, Columbia, Harvard, North Carolina and Ohio State. Select Nittany Lions could compete at the Junior Olympics on Feb. 17-18 before the team continues NCAA action at Temple on Feb. 25. The Temple women's team serves as the host for competition that also includes St. John's, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, Penn and the Stevens Tech men.

The 2024 post-season begins on March 9th with the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals at a site to be determined. The 2024 NCAA fencing championships will take place on Thursday through Sunday, March 21-24, at Ohio State.
