Neil Lilov Takes Third at November NAC

 
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.– The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams sent three fencers to compete at the November North American Cup (NAC). This month's NAC took place in Fort Worth, Tex. at the Fort Worth Convention Center and spanned from Nov. 10-13. This tournament was the second NAC/Olympic qualifying tournament of the fall season. 
 
The Penn State Nittany Lion fencing teams sent three total fencers, all from the men's team, to compete in each weapon. 
 
Neil Lilov led the Nittany Lions with a third place finish in junior men's saber out of 308 participants, tying for third with Lukas H. Eichhorn. Lilov also fenced with his Lilov Fencing Team in the junior team men's saber event where they also placed third.  
 
Freshman Spencer Burke finished in 12th place out of 354 in junior men's foil with Vasil Ivakimov in 172nd place out of 338 fencers in men's epee.

The team will send select fencers to compete at next months NAC event in Richmond, Va from Dec. 1-4.
