Ciezki Earns a Spot on Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

ROSEMONT Ill.- Sophomore guard Shay Ciezki logged 62 points in three games to earn a place on the three-person Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll. This is the second consecutive week the Lady Lions have represented on the conference weekly honor list with Makenna Marisa earning the nod last week.

Ciezki shined in the first game of the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Tournament in Nassau, Bahamas in Penn State's 89-80 win over Oklahoma State on Nov. 20. The native of Buffalo, N.Y. recorded a career high 27 points including a personal best tying seven triples. Her seven baskets beyond the arc was just one bucket short of the Lady Lions' program record of eight in a single game.

Against eighth-ranked USC in game two in paradise, Ciezki led the Lady Lions in scoring with 18 points, rebounds with seven and assists with three. The rising sophomore continued her hot streak when the team returned home to the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, Nov. 26 to host Providence. Ciezki posted a game-high 17 points and also contributed four assists, four boards and two steals.

Ciezki has scored in double figures six times this season so far including the previous three straight contests. She leads the team in triples with 21 on the season for a 42% three-point percentage.

The sophomore Lady Lion ranks 11th in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game and sits second in the Big Ten in three-pointers behind Caitlin Clark.

Ciezki and the rest of the Lady Lions return to the court on Wednesday, Nov. 29 to host Radford in the Bryce Jordan Center.
