BOSTON - The Penn State women's ice hockey team claimed all four College Hockey America weekly awards on Monday afternoon. Tessa Janecke, Maggie MacEachern, Stella Retrum, and Annie Spring each received a weekly award.
Janecke, who was named Forward of the Week, had an incredible week at Dartmouth as she tallied a total of 10 points with four goals and six assists in the two games played. She recorded her second career hat-trick in Saturday's game and broke the single-game program record for most points in a single game with seven off three goals and four assists that she recorded in the 8-2 victory over Dartmouth. She also tied the CHA all-time leader in most points in a single game with seven. On the season, Janecke leads the team in points with 22 off five goals and 17 assists.
MacEachern captured her third CHA weekly award as she was the top defenseman for the Nittany Lions last week. She scored one goal and added three assists over the weekend and recorded one blocked shot. The Brooklin, Ontario native also tallied a plus/minus rating of +4. On the season, MacEachern has scored three goals alongside seven assists for 10 points.
Retrum secured her third CHA weekly award honor after scoring her first career hat-trick at Dartmouth in Saturday's 8-2 victory. For the entire series, she finished with three goals and four assists. She scored one power-play in the hat-trick and recorded a total of two points while on the power-play. In five of the last seven games, she has tallied multiple points in those games. On the season, Retrum sits second on the team in points with 13 off six goals and seven assists.
Spring earned her first career CHA weekly award honor after securing her first collegiate victories between the pipes. She came off the bench in game one of the series at Dartmouth and allowed just one goal in that time. In game two, she made her first collegiate start in net and recorded 26 saves and allowed just two goals which aided the Nittany Lions to an 8-2 win. For the series she recorded a GAA of 1.88 and save percentage of .923.
Penn State returns to action on Friday, December 1 when they begin a two-game series at home against Robert Morris. Puck-drop is set for 2 p.m.
