Leilani Kapinus Tabbed to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State women's basketball's Leilani Kapinus is named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Kapinus' career outing on Sunday in Penn State's second largest point total in program history with 119 points earned her the conference weekly nod. The redshirt junior joins teammates Makenna Marisa and Shay Ciezki to total three Lady Lions to earn a place on the B1G Weekly Honor Roll. 
 
Kapinus was unstoppable on all sides of the ball in Penn State's dominant 119-43 win over Saint Francis on Sunday, Dec. 17. The guard out of Madison, Wisc. produced a career high 25 points on nine of 13 shooting from the field including three, three-point baskets, another personal best. Kapinus also found her teammates in crucial points in the game, tallying four assists. She was effective on defense as well, grabbing six boards and racking up a game high five steals to contribute to Penn State's 45 points off turnovers. 
 
The Lady Lions, led by Kapinus in scoring for the second time this season, posted their second highest point total in program history as well as their largest margin of victory this season. 
 
Kapinus and the rest of Penn State women's basketball returns to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The Lady Lions are set to take on Central Connecticut with tip time set for 11:30 a.m.
