Penn State Dominates Ohio State in CRAA D1A Mint City Bowl Game
In a thrilling showdown at the CRAA D1A Mint City Bowl Game, Penn State emerged victorious in a resounding 61-10 triumph over Ohio State.
The match kicked off with an explosive start as Mike Wein of Penn State wasted no time making an impact. Wein showcased his finishing abilities in the first minute of the match to put Penn State ahead 7-0.
However, Ohio State quickly responded to PSU's early score, after a handful of penalties put them in scoring position off the ensuing kick-off. After a well worked penalty move OSU closed the gap 7-5.
As the match progressed, it became evident that Penn State was determined to assert their dominance. Leading the charge for Penn State was Dan Morariu, who had a stellar performance, crossing the try line four times. Morariu's ability to consistently find scoring opportunities played a crucial role in Penn State's commanding lead.
Stephen Hoey showcased his accuracy and precision in the kicking department, converting five out of six attempts to maximize Penn State's point tally. The significance of reliable goal-kicking cannot be overstated, and Hoey's contribution undoubtedly played a pivotal role in securing the convincing victory.
Aidan King, Stephen Hoey, Nick Bruno, and Cole Stoeppelwerth all scored tries in match as Penn State were able to get into a good rhythm and find scoring opportunities.
Cole Stoeppelwerth, has a particularly strong performance earning himself the player of the game. Solid at set piece and not only scoring tries but setting up his teammates. He was solid in tight defensively too.
This marks the end of the Fall season for Penn State. The team will now take a small break before returning for some off-season training prior to the Spring 15s Season.
