Exhibition Game Dates and Opponents Announced for Men’s Basketball Bahamas Tour

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Exhibition games dates, times and opponents for the Penn State men's basketball team's August foreign tour to the Bahamas have been finalized, as announced by Baha Mar Hoops Thursday.
 
The Nittany Lions will play a pair of games against international competition as part of the 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Summer League at the Baha Mar Convention Center when Penn State travels to the Bahamas Aug. 6-13.
 
Penn State opens exhibition game action on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. ET against The Bahamas national team. The Nittany Lions will then take on University of Victoria (Canada) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 4:30 p.m. ET.
 
NCAA basketball teams are permitted to take an international tour to play exhibition games once every four years. The Nittany Lions last traveled abroad to the Bahamas in 2017 and Belgium, France and England in 2013.
 
Penn State is coming off a 2022-23 season that saw the Nittany Lions finish 23-14 overall and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The 2023-24 season marks the first under Peter and Ann Tombros Endowed Head Coach Mike Rhoades, who came to Happy Valley following a highly-successful six-year stint at VCU.
 
The Baha Mar Hoops Summer League is managed by bdG Sports, a Lexington-based event marketing firm which annually manages more than two dozen games at Baha Mar each November. The Nittany Lions are participating in a joint effort with bdG Sports and Global Sports and Events (GSE).
