Notable Home Games: Kansas (November 13), Providence (November 26)
Penn State takes on defending WNIT champion Kansas for the first time in 26 years on Nov. 13. The contest serves as a grudge match, with both sides taking two of four meetings – the latest going to the Jayhawks by a 61-53 final in 1997.
Also coming to town are the Providence Friars. Led by first-year head coach Erin Batth, the Big East squad returns to the Bryce Jordan Center for the first time since 2018, when the Lady Lions overcame a 15-point second half deficit to win, 74-72, extending their all-time series advantage to 6-0.
Thanksgiving in the Bahamas: Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Tournament (November 20,22)
A trip to Nassau awaits the Lady Lions with two contests at the Baha Mar Resort. Games take place against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20 and the USC Trojans at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22. This is the first meeting with Oklahoma State since 2001, and the second all-time. The USC game – a preview of future B1G matchups – serves as the first contest between the two sides since 1983.
Additional Home Games: Bucknell (November 7), Radford (November 29), St. Francis (December 17), Central Connecticut (December 20)
Bucknell makes the brief trip up from Lewisburg to open the season for the first time in 10 seasons. In their last matchup, the Lady Lions took home a 92-49 win to improve to 13-0 all-time against the Bison. The Lady Lions and Radford meet for the first time since the 2018 WNIT. Saint Francis (Pa.) also makes the short ride up from Cambria County, with the Lady Lions looking for an eighth victory on their ninth try. Fellow Northeast Conference challenger Central Connecticut travels to State College three days later, with tipoff slated for a matinee time on Education Day.
First Time Face-Off: Navy (November 10)
The Lady Lions and Navy will meet for the first time in program history on Nov. 10 inside the Bryce Jordan Center. Competing out of the Patriot League, the Mids are looking to rebound from a 1-29 campaign in 2022-23.
Away Games: St. John's (November 16), West Virginia (December 4)
Making its first trip to Queens to face the St. John's Red Storm, Penn State looks to put up a winning streak, building off an 80-75 victory in the 2021 Gulf Coast Showcase. The team will also head to Morgantown, W.Va. to face the Mountaineers for the second consecutive year. Penn State defeated West Virginia 69-57 last season inside the BJC.
