UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's lacrosse midfielder Kristin O'Neill has been named to the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American third team, the organization announced Wednesday.
The senior was honored as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's All-American honorable mention and USA Lacrosse third team All-American at the conclusion of the 2023 season. She was also named first team All-Big Ten and first team All-Region.
O'Neill started in all 18 games for the Nittany Lions last season. She led the team with 51 goals and 59 points. She recorded at least one goal in every game in 2023.
The two-time team captain helped lead the team to their 26th NCAA Tournament appearance and an 11-7 overall record last season.
In addition to being named a Preseason All-American, O'Neill was ranked No. 35 in Inside Lacrosse's Top 50 Women's Players for 2024.
This is the first time O'Neill has been named a Preseason All-American in her career.
The Nittany Lions enter their 2024 campaign ranked 14th in USA Lacrosse's Preseason Poll. They will kick off their season at Bucknell Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.
