ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State women's lacrosse players Sammy Dupcak, Ellie Hollin and Kristin O'Neill were named Big Ten Players to Watch ahead of the 2024 season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Dupcak earns her third consecutive Player to Watch recognition. The senior captain was named second team All-Big Ten after playing in all 18 games for the Nittany Lions. Dupcak led the team with her 29 turnovers and 20 draw control victories.
Hollin is selected as a Player to Watch for the second straight season. The junior defender collected 31 ground balls and forced 27 turnovers in her sophomore campaign. She was named first team All-Big Ten and a USA Lacrosse All-American honorable mention in 2023.
O'Neill also earns her third consecutive Player to Watch recognition. The senior captain had a stellar junior campaign scoring at least one goal in every game. O'Neill led the team with 51 goals and 59 points. She was named first team All-Big Ten and USA Lacrosse All-American third team.
The Nittany Lions were voted to finish fifth in the Big Ten's Preseason Poll. Reigning Big Ten and NCAA champions Northwestern were selected to finish first followed by Maryland, Johns Hopkins and Michigan.
Penn State women's lacrosse will begin their 2024 campaign at Bucknell on Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.
