Bothun Named HCA National Co-Goaltender of the Month

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's ice hockey senior goaltender Josie Bothun was named the Hockey Coaches Association (HCA) Co-National Goaltender of the Month as announced on Friday afternoon. She shares the award St. Cloud State's Sanni Ahola. This is Bothun's second HCA National Goaltender of the Month honor in her career.
 
Bothun recorded a record of 3-1 0 in the month of December with a .1.26 GAA and save percentage of .954. One of the three victories was a shutout over Robert Morris on December 2, 2023, for her first of the year. Her shutout win marked her 19th career shutout victory with placed her tied for first in the CHA in most career shutouts. On the year, Bothun tallies a record of 9-8-1 with a save percentage of .910 and GAA of 2.40.
 
Penn State returns to action on Friday, January 5 at 6 p.m. when they begin a two-game series against Union.
