UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 15/15 Penn State women's ice hockey team fell to Union 2-1 in overtime on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn State struck first with 4:07 remaining in the first period off a power-play goal by Brianna Brooks to put the Nittany Lions ahead 1-0.
- Union answered less than a minute later as Emily King scored for the Garnet Chargers to tie the game at 1-1.
- After two scoreless periods, Maddie Leaney would score the game-winner for Union with 3:54 remaining in overtime to give the Garnet Chargers the victory.
GOALTENDERS
- Katie DeSa made her first appearance in net this season making 12 saves and allowed two goals.
STATS AND NOTES
- Brianna Brooks scored her fifth goal in her last six games played.
- This is Penn State's first lost to Union since October 8, 2016.
- Lyndie Lobdell recorded her sixth assist of the season.
- Penn State out-shot Union 35-14.
