Kowal Earns Second-Straight EIVA Offensive Player of the Week Honor

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Michal Kowal was named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week Monday after leading Penn State Men's Volleyball to a 3-1 win over FDU in Rec Hall's South Gym.
 
Kowal was dominant in the win over the Knights on Saturday, hitting .697 with 24 kills, eight digs and two blocks. He had at least six kills while hitting at least .750 in all three of Penn State's set wins.
 
Over the past four matches, Kowal hit .445 while averaging 4.47 kills and 1.65 digs per set.
 
Five Penn State players have combined for six EIVA weekly awards this season, including Kowal (Offensive 2x), John Kerr (Offensive), Michael Valenzi (Offensive), Ryan Merk (Defensive) and Toby Ezeonu (Defensive).
 
No. 9 Penn State opens EIVA play this week as it travels to play No. 15 Princeton on Friday and Saturday.
