ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Penn State men's lacrosse team secured two Big Ten weekly awards as the conference announced on Tuesday. Midfielder Matt Traynor and attackman Kyle Lehman each received a weekly honor for the first time this season.
Traynor who was named B1G Offensive Player of the Week, tallied a career-high six goals in Saturday's 18-10 victory over Villanova. He led the Nittany Lions in goals and points while forcing three turnovers. It was Traynor's third six-point game in his career as well. On the year, Traynor has eight goals for eight points.
Lehman who earned B1G Freshman of the Week honors, recorded his second straight hat trick scoring three goals on Saturday against Villanova. On the year, he has already six goals and one assist in two games played.
Penn State returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 when they travel to face Stony Brook. Game-time is set for noon.
