UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track & field's Kileigh Kane was recognized as the Big Ten Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for her performance this past weekend, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Kane earns this week's honor thanks to her historic mile outing at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational this past weekend. She clocked a 4:32.97 to become Penn State's second-fastest female miler ever. The State College native's mark is the best in the Big Ten conference this season and ranks 22nd in Division I.
The Penn State miler picks up her first career Big Ten weekly accolade, earning the Nittany Lions' sixth Big Ten weekly award of 2024.

LOOKING AHEAD
Penn State will compete in its final meets of the regular season this weekend. Kane and the rest of the Nittany Lions' women's DMR team will return to Boston to compete in the Terrier DMR Challenge while the rest of Penn State's group hosts the Penn State Tune-Up at home in the Multi-Sport Facility on Friday.
