Florida Gators Invitational Day 1 Results
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State men's golf team completed the opening two rounds at the spring season-opening Gators Invitational Friday at Florida's Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Penn State saw a 12-stroke improvement in the second round, firing a 3-over, 283, compared to its 15-over, 295, in the first round. The Nittany Lions are 14th in the 15-team field after finishing opening day at 18-over, 578.
Patrick Sheehan leads the Nittany Lions at 1-over, 141. He carded a 1-under, 69, in the second round to move up 14 spots on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 2-over, 72, in the morning round.
Jake Griffin sits tied for 58th at 6-over, 146, after shooting an even 70 in the first round and a 6-over, 76, in the second. Morgan Lofland follows closely behind and is tied for 63rd at 7-over, 147. Lofland carded an 8-over, 78, in the first round but rebounded strongly with a 1-under, 69, in the afternoon.
Billy Pabst Jr. is tied for 69th at 8-over, 148, while Jimmy Meyers sits in 78th place at 11-over, 151.
The third and final round of the Gators Invitational is scheduled for Saturday. Live scoring will continue to be available via GolfStat.
