Fencing to Travel to Philadelphia for Temple Invitational Sunday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – For the last meet of the regular season, the Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will head to Philadelphia for the Temple Invitational this weekend. With Neil Lilov and Yaroslav Muruhin fresh off top-eight finishes at the junior world cup in France last weekend, all fencers are looking to make that final push before the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals.
 
Arwen Borowiak, Caiden Cannon, Spencer Burke, Aidan Johnson, Yaroslav Muruhin and Matthew Gonzalez will compete in men's foil with Thea Fernandes, Arianna Proietti, Eden De La Cruz, Ariel Ratsep and Samantha Catantan in women's foil. 
 
Representing Penn State in men's epee will be Devin Tafoya, Nicholas Glaz, Tingwei Xu, Peter Kambeseles, Mitchel Bekker and Zachary Suico with Claire Haas, Kateryna Chorniy, Axelle Wasiak, Jaclyn Khrol on the women's side. 
 
The sabre squad will consist of Neil Lilov, Kamar Skeete, Jeffrey Basalyga, Nicholas Zielinski and Nicholas Pope for the men and Aurora Colter, Mia Novick, Ola Strzalkowski and Amelia Baker for the women.
 
Round 1 for the women's team will commence at 8:30 a.m. on strips 5 and 6 against Johns Hopkins. They will next face Penn at 10, Princeton at 11:30 on strips 9 and 10, have lunch from 1-1:30 p.m., and will pick back up against Temple at 1:45 on strips 1 and 2 and end the day against SJU on strips 5 and 6 at 3:15. 
 
For the men's team, they will face Johns Hopkins on strips 7 and 8 beginning at 8:30 a.m., see Penn at 10, Princeton on strips 11 and 12 at 11:30, lunch from 1-1:30, Stevens Tech at 1:45 on strips 3 and 4 and will conclude against SJU on strips 7 and 8 at 3:15.
