UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 12/13 Penn State men's lacrosse team is back on road this weekend as they travel to face Navy on Saturday, Feb. 24 at noon.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Navy currently leads the all-time series 37-2. The last time the Nittany Lions met with the Midshipmen came on April 12, 2003 when Penn State defeated Navy 5-4.  

SCOUTING NAVY

  • Navy enters the game with a 2-1 overall record.
  • The Midshipmen are coming off a 17-5 loss against Towson on Feb. 17.
  • Currently, Navy's top point-man is Xavier Arline with seven goals and two assists for nine points.
  • In net for Navy stands Dan Daly who has started in all three games recording a GAA of 10.10, save percentage of .518 and record of 2-1.  

BALDWIN BREAKS THROUGH

  • Freshman Colby Baldwin scored his first collegiate goal in Penn State's 14-10 victory over Stony Brook last Saturday.
  • He scored the goal right off the face-off win he drew and scored in the Nittany Lions first goal of the game in just six seconds.
  • Baldwin also was impressive in his first full game at the face-off dot going 15-28 against the Seawolves. 

MOVING BACK UP

  • Following Penn State's second straight victory of the year, the Nittany Lions jumped two spots in the latest USILA poll announcement on Monday.
  • Penn State moved up to the 12 spot as they were previously ranked 14th the week before.
  • The Nittany Lions stayed put at 13 in the Inside Lacrosse media poll.

FULL TEAM EFFORTS

  • In Penn State's 14-10 victory over Stony Brook, 10 players on the Nittany Lion squad scored at least one goal in game. 
  • Six of those ten also registered more than two points in the game.
  • Players like Mac Costin and Chris Jordan stepped up combining for a total of four goals and two assists which aided in the win. 
  • Eight Nittany Lions scored at least one goal in Penn State's victory against Villanova on Feb. 10.
