Owusu Tabbed to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

ROSEMONT, Ill.- Graduate guard Ashley Owusu was named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in three weeks. The Lady Lion garners the honor after notching her 1,500th career point and averaging 17.5 points, eight rebounds and four assists through two games. Penn State women's basketball has now landed someone on the weekly conference honor roll for the third-straight week.
 
Owusu continues her dominance since her return to the court after 322 days of being sidelined. The guard surpassed 1,500 career points on Saturday, Feb. 3 after scoring in double figures in each of her seven outings so far this season. She has lead the team in scoring on four occasions, led in assists five times and grabbed the most boards three times. 
 
The two-time All-American notched her first double-double wearing the blue and white and seventh of her career on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Lady Lions' 80-64 road win at Minnesota. Owusu scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while totaling six assists.
 
The Virginia native was highly effective shooting the ball against Michigan. She shot 6-of-8 from the field including one from beyond the arc. Her 18-point outing elevated her to a perfect 1,500 point on the dot. 
 
Owusu and the rest of the Lady Lions return to the court for a hard road test at no. 2 Iowa on Thursday, Feb. 8. Tip off in Iowa City is set for 9 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised on the Big Ten Network.
