UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's John Kerr was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, earning the award for the second time this season. He picked up the honor after his performance against three nationally-ranked opponents on the west coast – No. 16 CSUN, No. 12 USC and No. 4 UCLA.
Kerr hit .333 while averaging 4.08 kills, 1.00 digs and 0.31 blocks/set over the three matches. He recorded double-digit kills in all three matches, starting with 13 in a 3-1 win over CSUN. He followed that with a great performance in a four-set loss to USC, hitting .405 with 21 kills, four digs and two blocks. The senior closed the week with 19 kills and five digs in a five-set loss to UCLA.
