ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Graduate transfer Jacques Bouquot (South Windsor, Conn.) will remain in the Keystone State as he inked a professional tryout (PTO) with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign as announced by the team on Monday afternoon. Bouquot also has a standard player contract set with the Phantoms on an AHL deal for the 2024-25 season.
Bouquot joined the Nittany Lions this season after spending the previous four years at Vermont and had a career year in the Blue and White finishing third on the team with 27 points on 12 goals and 15 assists, each of which were single-season career best marks. Bouquot's 12 goals were good for third on the team while his six powerplay tallies ranked second and tied for the second-most in a single-season in program history.
Bouquot registered the 12th hat-trick in Penn State history during a 9-3 victory over Lindenwood back in November and finished the year with five multi-point games. The South Windsor, Connecticut native finished his collegiate career appearing in 143 games and registering 77 points on 29 goals and 48 assists.
Joining Bouquot out east is former alternate captain and 2023 graduate Tyler Gratton, whose brother Chris is in his first season as assistant strength coach with the Phantoms. Gratton played his final collegiate season at Arizona State in 2023-24 after skating in 123 games for the Nittany Lions from 2019-23 scoring 20 goals to go along with 14 assists for 34 points.
