Piedrahita Lands on All-Big Ten First Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's gymnastics' Ava Piedrahita earned First Team All-Big Ten recognition for her performance through the 2024 campaign, the conference announced Wednesday.

Piedrahita collects the second All-Conference team nod of her career after earning Second Team honors following her freshman campaign in 2023. The sophomore finished the regular season with three NQS marks inside the top ten in the conference. Her No. 5 vault score (9.900), No. 8 all-around total (39.420), and No. 10 bars tally (9.890) are a reflection of her outstanding performance during the 2024 regular season.

The Gaithersburg, Md. native followed up her postseason All-American season last year with an outstanding showing in 2024, recording six 9.9-plus vault totals without dipping below 9.825 in the event. She also posted five 39.400-plus all-around scores, including a 39.525 career-best mark.

LOOKING AHEAD

Piedrahita and the rest of the Nittany Lions will travel to Michigan State for this year's Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 23. Penn State will compete in Session I at noon ET and the meet will air live on the Big Ten Network.
