Hollin and O’Neill Named IL Midseason All-Americans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's lacrosse's Ellie Hollin and Kristin O'Neill have earned a spot on Inside Lacrosse's Midseason All-American list released Thursday.

The pair are listed on the second team with 11 other DI women's lacrosse student-athletes. The Big Ten is represented in nine of the 11 listed on the second team.

Hollin has started all 10 games for Penn State, proving to be a force to be reckoned with on the defensive end. The Monkton, Md. native is tied for second on the team with nine caused turnovers. She also has scooped up seven groundballs.

The defender was named a Big Ten Player to Watch in January and IL Preseason All-American honorable mention in February.

O'Neill leads the team with 31 goals and 36 points. She ranks first in the nation in free position goals per game with 1.70.

The Odenton, Md. native garners her third consecutive IL Midseason All-American honor. O'Neill was most recently named IWLCA and the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week for her game winning performance against Northwestern. The week before she was named the Big Ten's Midfielder of the Week for leading the team to two consecutive victories against Lehigh and Cornell.

Midway through the season the Nittany Lions are 6-4 with notable upset victories over then No. 22 Rutgers and then-No.1 Northwestern.

Penn State looks to keep its four-game win streak alive against Big Ten rival Ohio State tonight at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
