PRINCETON, N.J. - The Penn State men's tennis team dropped its match to No. 21 Princeton on Saturday. The Nittany Lions put up a fight, but ultimately fell 4-0.
DOUBLES
At No. 1, Ari Cotoulas and Nolan Ranger partnered up, but dropped their match to Paul Inchauspe and Filippos Astreinidis, 6-1. On Court No. 2, Miko Eala and Alex Sterin played a tight match but ultimately fell 6-4 to Ellis Short and Sebastian Sec.
Court No. 3's Jack Martuccio and Ritvik Nadikude were trailing 5-3 against Evan Wen and Alan Kam when the match went unfinished, due to Princeton clinching the doubles point before the conclusion of the match.
SINGLES
Playing on Court No. 3, Ranger fell 6-1, 6-1 to Short. Nadikude dropped his match at No. 5 to Mahoney, 6-3, 6-3.
At No.1, Eala was leading his opponent, Fnu Nidunjianzan, 6-3, 4-3. Martuccio was down on Court No. 2, 6-2, 5-2 against Sec. Cotoulas was coming back at 4-6, 4-3 at the No. 4 spot versus Aleksandar Mitric. The three matches went incomplete as the match was already clinched by Princeton before these three matches finished.
UP NEXT
The Blue and White will travel to Tampa, Fla. to face the South Florida Bulls on Wednesday, Mar. 6. The match will be held at the Varsity Tennis Courts at 6 p.m.
