Weather Shortens Juli Inkster Invitational to 36 Holes

FAIRFAX, Calif.  – The Penn State women's golf team concluded play at the Juli Inkster Invitational on Tuesday afternoon when weather rolled in and forced the event to be shortened and reverted back to the 36-hole scores. Penn State finished the week 14th.

The third round was more than halfway complete when the Meadow Club finally succumbed to the rain as standing water on the greens and unplayable holes forced the event to revert back to the 36-hole scores from Monday.

Stanford (13-under) finished three shots clear of Washington (10-under) to earn the Invitational crown while USC (6-under) and Oregon State (1-under) also finished in red figures with Denver and San Francisco finished tied for fifth at 7-over.

Senior Mathilde Delavallade (Royan, France) opened strong with a 2-under, 70, in the first round on Monday and added a 5-over, 77, in the afternoon to finish the week tied for 33rd at 3-over.

Senior Victoria Tip-Aucha (Vienna, Va.) carded the low round on Monday afternoon for the Nittany Lions with a 1-over, 73, highlighted by five birdies.
