No. 10/11 Men's Lacrosse Set to Host No. 8 Cornell for Top 10 Matchup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 10/11 Penn State men's lacrosse team welcomes No. 8 Cornell for a top 10 ranked showdown starting on Saturday, March 9 at noon.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Both teams have 23 wins and 23 losses as the series is tied.
  • The last time the Nittany Lions met with Cornell came last season on Mar. 11, 2023, when Penn State edged Cornell 10-6.

SCOUTING CORNELL

  • Cornell enters the game with a 3-1 overall record.
  • The Big Red are coming off a 15-11 victory against Ohio State on Mar. 2.
  • Currently, Cornell's top point getter is Michael Long with nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points.
  • In net for Cornell stands Wyatt Knust who has started in all four games recording a GAA of 12.27, save percentage of .511 and record of 3-1. 

HOLY COMEBACK

  • Penn State rallied a seven-goal comeback against Yale in Saturday's 15-14 overtime win.
  • TJ Malone fired for of the eight goals in the rally while Jake Morin scored the game-winner in overtime with 59 seconds left.
  • It is the largest comeback Penn State has had this season.

APPROACHING 200 POINTS

  • Following TJ Malone's nine-point outing against Yale, TJ Malone now is one point away from approaching 200 career points.
  • In his five years as a Nittany Lion, Malone currently has tallied 120 goals and 79 assists.
  • He'd be the fourth Penn State player in program history to hit the mark with Mac O'Keefe the latest Nittany Lion to hit the mark who hit 200 points in 2019.

MOVING UP

  • Following Penn State's fourth straight victory of the year, the Nittany Lions moved to 10 in the latest USILA poll announcement on Monday.
  • The Nittany Lions moved up to 11 in the Inside Lacrosse media poll and moved up to nine in the USA Lacrosse poll.

  • Fans can park in Stadium West, Jordan East and Porter North lots.
  • Fans can use the park mobile app by clicking HERE to purchase parking prior to game-time. 
  • TAILGATING IS NOT PERMITTED IN CAMPUS PARKING LOTS. All drive lanes must be open to two- way traffic.
  • Setting up chairs, tents, etc. in parking spaces is prohibited. University Policy AD18 prohibits the use of alcohol on campus.
  • No charge with a valid Penn State parking permit
  • Guests must present their ParkMobile QR code to event parking staff on their mobile device, if requested. Printed permits from the ParkMobile website will also be accepted.
  • Prepaid parking available through https://psu.parkmobile.io/panzer-stadium
  • $5.50 through day before event, $10 day of event until two hours before the start of each event
  • Season parking packages available.
  • $40 for men's lacrosse for all regular season games (does NOT include post- season games)
  • Day-of event payment also available using in-lot pay stations or the ParkMobile app (zone no. 95112 beginning two hours before the event)
  • On days when lacrosse overlaps with a men's basketball, women's basketball, or men's hockey game, ParkMobile prepayment and zone parking and pay station parking for lacrosse will end two hours before those events, and cash only payment ($10) will be collected at the lots by attendants for those without a valid permit or prepayment. When lacrosse games overlap with a Bryce Jordan Center concert/show, day-of-event payment may be as high as $30 for those without a permit or prepayment.
