ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State women's lacrosse's Sydney Manning and Kristin O'Neill have earned Big Ten Weekly Awards, the conference announced Tuesday.
Manning was named Freshman and Defensive Player of the Week, while O'Neill collected Midfielder of the Week honors.
The duo earns the recognition after helping the Nittany Lions upset then-No. 4 Maryland, 12-11, over the weekend.
Manning faced a career high 36 shots, while making 11 saves. She also scooped up one groundball in the win.
O'Neill notched her eighth hat trick of the season against the Terrapins. The Odenton, Md. native is ranked sixth all-time in career goals with 159. She also registered a caused turnover and three draws.
This is O'Neill's third Big Ten Weekly award and Manning's second and third.
Women's lacrosse will wrap up the regular season at home against Johns Hopkins at 5:30 p.m.
