UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 15 Penn State women's lacrosse will face No. 25 Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals Thursday, May 2 in Evanston, Ill. First draw is set for 3:30 p.m.

Nittany Lions vs. Scarlet Knights
Penn State upset then-No.22 Rutgers in overtime 10-9 in March to earn their first conference victory of the season. Gretchen Gilmore scored the golden goal to help the Nittany Lions earn their second straight win over the Scarlet Knights. Meghan Murray was the next leading scorer in the game with two. 
 
Penn State is 23-2-0 in the all-time series. 
 
Scouting the Scarlet Knights
Rutgers is 8-9 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten. The Scarlet Knights advanced to the semifinals after taking down the No. 3 seed Maryland, 9-8 in the quarterfinals. 
 
Cassidy Spilis leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally with her 72 goals this season. The graduate student is also third in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.00) and points (76). 
 
Last Time Out
Penn State defeated Ohio State 15-13 at Panzer Stadium to move on to the tournament semifinals. Gilmore led the offense with five points (four goals, one assist) to help the Nittany Lions appear in the semifinals for the first time since 2021. In the victory, Kayla Abernathy earned her 200th career draw and a career high 13 draws.
