UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State track & field team travles to Coral Gables, Fla. from April 5-6 for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The Nittany Lion men received a No. 24 national ranking earlier this week ahead of the team's third-straight weekend in Florida.
Fresh off outstanding outings at the Florida Relays and the Raleigh Relays last weekend, Penn State heads back down to Florida for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The Nittany Lions set ten top-ten program marks in their split-squad weekend at the end of March and enter April primed to build on their success.
Cheickna Traore and Hayley Kitching recently were named Big Ten Track Athletes of the Week by the conference following their excellent performances at the Florida Relays. Traore tied Penn State's 38-year-old 200-meter school record with a lifetime-best 20.23, good for No. 7 in the world and No. 2 in Division I in 2024, and set the Nittany Lions' 100-meter school record with a 10.26 in his outdoor season-opener. Kitching set Penn State's 800-meter record with a 2:01.17, the No. 2 time in Division I.
