Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Season at NCAA Finals With Three Great Swims

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Penn State Men's Swimming and Diving Team enjoyed several top performances at the NCAA Finals to finish the 2023-24 campaign.  

Junior Mariano Lazzerini and sophomore Cooper Morley each placed in their events while the 400-medley relay team also posted a top swim on the weekend.  

Lazzerini, who entered the meet following his Big Ten Championship victory in the 100 breast, finished in 14th place at the NCAA Finals. In the prelims, Lazzerini turned in a fast time of 51.43 which he then followed in the final with a 51.77.  

Morley finished in the same place as Lazzerini in his individual event, the 100 back. At the Big Ten Championships, Morley was victorious in the prelims for the 100 back and finished as the runner up in the finals. At the NCAA Finals, Morley finished in 14th position turning in two great times of 45.12 in the prelims and 45.28 in the finals.  

The 400-medley relay team of Morley, Lazzerini, senior Lachlan Byrne and sophomore Matthew Bittner finished in the 16th place with a time of 3:05.85. 

Both individuals and the 400-medley relay team were recognized as second team All-Americans for their success at the NCAA Finals.
